Inaugurated in 2003, the Albufeira Marina is an important landmark in the city. The colorful fishing boats are a reminder of the region's past, while the distinctive yellow, blue, pink and orange buildings (designed by the renowned architect Taveira) complement the scenery. Around the marina, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with a wide selection of restaurants, bars and stores (including a bowling alley). The golf courses in Albufeira are renowned for their quality and variety, amidst stunning natural scenery. One of the most renowned is Salgados Golf Course. In the Old Town, next to the Archaeology Museum, you'll find the Três Coroas Restaurant (a landmark in the city). Here the menu is typically Portuguese, and among the house specialties are “Bacalhau à Três Coroas”, “Polvo à Lagareiro” and “Bife à Portuguesa”. The restaurant has a rustic décor inside, with utensils formerly used in country life displayed on the walls. Still, the "ex-libris" of the space is the inviting terrace, where you can enjoy your meal with a spectacular view over the Atlantic.
