A house of memories

Before we describe this building we have a story to tell.
A few decades ago two young people in love decided to get married. Being the parents of Elvas' bride, they chose this beautiful Alentejo city as the stage for their happy union. Their life together continued between Lisbon and then other continents and so the years passed until it was time for them to stay in Portuguese lands and look for a new home with the potential for a small "guest house". His search was based in the Lisbon region and, suddenly, the alert appears, either by mistake or the work of new technologies, for an old house, full of potential and charm, for sale. They fell in love right away. The only question is that it wasn't for sale in Lisbon after all, but in Elvas. Compelled by their sensitivity and spirit of adventure, they came to the city, the genesis of their life together, and could not resist. They bought the old and despised building, which had been closed to the world for many years.

2019 would be a new life cycle for these walls. The entire building has been rehabilitated and renovated. They kept the original elements of charm as much as possible and reproduced others. It was a meticulous and lengthy process, with the unforeseen common to this type of mission, but they finally managed to dignify the building, give it comfort and uniqueness, as illustrated by its pleasant terrace, on the 3rd floor, where we enjoy an incredible view and the freshness of a mini pool.

The "guest house" thus emerged in a more intimate and tasteful accommodation concept, in the historic center of Elvas. Sometimes other types of projects speak louder. With a feeling of mission accomplished, the owners now intend to pass on their legacy to special people.

Ground Floor:

A room that accesses the kitchen at the back and the dining room
1 bedroom with bathroom
1 bathroom full of original details

On the 1st Floor, accessed by a beautiful old marble staircase:
2 bedrooms each with a bathroom.

On the 2nd Floor:
3 bedrooms each with a bathroom

On the 3rd Floor
A delightful terrace with a small technical support (fridge/dishwasher/area to store outdoor furniture) and a tank/pool with a magnificent view
From this terrace, you can access a solarium by an external staircase.

Completely new sewerage, water and electricity systems.
This building is sold with filling.
All divisions have air conditioning.
All bathrooms have their own water heater
The kitchen is fully equipped.
It is located in a central commercial area, with car parks just a few meters away.


It is 2 hours from Lisbon, by highway. It is 10 minutes from Spain (Badajoz).
